The broad outline and many of the details of the battle are well recorded and described. However there remain some key questions such as: exactly where were Northampton's men when
they beat off Waller's attack? What were Astley's men up to? and crucially where were the Parliamentarian guns parked which were captured in the later phases of the conflict?
